  • Small business owners are using smart tools to automate tasks like bookkeeping, customer service, and content creation with minimal resources
  • Platforms like Salla and QuickBooks help entrepreneurs manage online stores, financials, and logistics, saving time and boosting efficiency

RIYADH: Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing the landscape for small businesses, offering innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, creativity, and competitiveness. As technology evolves, many entrepreneurs are leveraging AI tools to streamline operations and drive growth.

One of the most significant advantages of AI is its ability to automate repetitive tasks. Tools like chatbots can handle customer inquiries around the clock, freeing up valuable time for business owners to focus on strategic initiatives.

This not only improves customer service but also enhances overall efficiency.

AI-powered analytics platforms can process vast amounts of data, providing actionable insights that help businesses make informed decisions based on market trends and consumer behavior.听

In this dynamic environment, AI is transforming small business operations.

A notable example is Hams Nabeel, a working mother who founded her business, Thikra, to preserve cherished memories for families.

鈥淭here was a clear need for my business idea,鈥 she told Arab News. 鈥淪ince I had my daughter, I wanted to preserve her hospital items 鈥 like her hat, blanket, and hand bracelet 鈥 all in one place.鈥

AI has become crucial in Nabeel鈥檚 entrepreneurial journey, streamlining various aspects of her operations. 鈥淐hatGPT helped me expand my business by crafting a clear structural plan,鈥 she said.

What typically took weeks can now be accomplished in minutes, providing clarity when she faced uncertainties.

AI also assisted Nabeel in comparing 3D printers and defining her business鈥檚 vision. 鈥淎I guided me in crafting my mission and vision and even generated social media posts,鈥 she said.

For financial management, she relies on QuickBooks, which automates tasks and offers valuable insights. Furthermore, Nabeel uses Salla, a website creation tool that simplifies online store management.

鈥淐reating a business is so easy with Salla,鈥 she said, allowing her to focus on creativity rather than technical details.

In creative sectors, AI tools are essential for content creation and design. From generating social media posts to developing marketing materials, AI helps small business owners maintain a robust online presence without extensive resources.

鈥淲e have traditionally always been creatives before tech developers, but with AI it is now enabling us to combine both,鈥 Denis Bodart, who operates a creative animation agency called Feed Me Light in London and Riyadh, told Arab News.

鈥淲e are now building more creative tools and AI products, including a new SaaS (Software as a Service) platform focused on the out-of-home advertising sector, which allows us to dynamically display content on various screens at once.

鈥淚magine walking through a city filled with screens that communicate and showcase engaging, interactive content. For example, the displays can respond to the latest football or esports results, presenting teams in an exciting manner.

鈥淭hey can also adapt to weather conditions and customize their content based on audience presence in events, venues, and shops.鈥

Bodart highlighted how AI agents support his team. 鈥淏y training AI agents to understand our business more, we can use these agents to help support our teams, providing a helping hand with more repetitive tasks such as receipts, bookings, data fetching, or even helping enhance our marketing and sales teams, amplifying our business鈥檚 online presence.鈥

He added: 鈥淔or 黑料社区, the strategic integration of AI holds immense potential to create a truly transformative and positive impact on how they approach upcoming global events such as the Winter Olympics, Asian Cup, and World Cup events.

鈥淭his technology can significantly elevate fan engagement, optimize operations, and craft unparalleled experiences, setting new benchmarks for global sporting events hosted in the Kingdom.鈥

Integrating AI allows small businesses to provide seamless customer experiences. Automating processes like order management and payment processing enhances customer satisfaction and loyalty.

鈥淎I has completely changed the game for small creators like me,鈥 Salwa Beauty, a prominent social media influencer in 黑料社区, told Arab News. 鈥淚t鈥檚 like having a full creative team in your pocket.鈥

Salwa utilizes AI to generate content ideas, animate scenes, write captions, and redesign photos 鈥 tasks that once required extensive time and resources.

For her fitness content, Salwa has eliminated the need for models or physical products. 鈥淚 can animate people, create scenes, and even showcase products being used 鈥 all without hiring anyone or incurring upfront costs,鈥 she said.

This capability allows her to build a complete brand presence independently, showcasing the democratizing power of AI.

The freedom AI provides is substantial for small businesses. By enabling entrepreneurs to launch ideas, test visuals, and create professional content quickly and affordably, AI empowers them to stand out in a crowded market.

鈥淎I is literally my assistant now,鈥 said Salwa.

AI also reduces costs associated with traditional modeling. Additionally, AI facilitates content creation and scheduling, allowing businesses to maintain a consistent online presence effortlessly.

Platforms like Salla and Zid are enhancing the landscape for small businesses in 黑料社区. These platforms leverage AI to optimize customer interactions, enabling efficient order scheduling, carrier connections, and targeted marketing messages based on customer data.

With AI as a partner, the possibilities for growth and success are limitless. As small businesses in 黑料社区 continue to embrace these technologies, they open the door to a future where creativity and efficiency flourish, paving the way for new ideas and opportunities.

AI is a powerful ally for small businesses, empowering them to optimize operations, enhance marketing efforts, and improve customer experiences. As more entrepreneurs embrace these technologies, the potential for growth and innovation continues to expand.

  • Reem Hazzazi鈥檚 journey highlights a cultural shift as more women take on leadership roles in sports

JEDDAH: Reem Hazzazi is among a new wave of Saudi women breaking barriers in sports, carving her place not as an athlete, but as one of the Kingdom鈥檚 first international weightlifting referees.

Her journey began a little over three years ago at the moment she stepped into a weightlifting hall, drawn not to the cheers of the crowd thrilled by the athletes鈥 performance, but to the quiet precision of referees.

鈥淚 realized I didn鈥檛 just want to watch weightlifting; I wanted to be part of it, but from a different angle,鈥 Hazzazi, 40, told Arab News. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 when I decided to pursue refereeing.鈥

For years, weightlifting was seen largely as a men鈥檚 sport, with few envisioning women in officiating roles. Hazzazi embraced that challenge.

鈥淭he biggest hurdle was breaking the stereotype,鈥 she explained. 鈥淎t first, people were surprised to see me in this role. But with persistence and hard work, that surprise turned into respect.鈥

Her curiosity about the sport鈥檚 rules drove her deeper. She learned every detail of the snatch and clean-and-jerk and trained alongside senior referees, while facing constant pressure to prove herself.

She learned that refereering is a responsibility that requires 鈥渁ccuracy, discipline and a thorough understanding of the game.鈥

Support from her family, peers and the Saudi Weightlifting Federation helped her to endure.

鈥淭he federation鈥檚 backing has been crucial,鈥 Hazzazi said. 鈥淯nder Mohammed Al-Harbi鈥檚 leadership, they provided training programs, workshops and opportunities to gain real experience at local and international tournaments. That support gave me the confidence to keep going.鈥

Her determination carried her to the Arab Games in Cairo in 2023, a defining moment in her career.

鈥淚t was an incredible experience,鈥 she recalled. 鈥淚t wasn鈥檛 just about the competition; it was about learning from referees across the Arab world, adapting to new situations under pressure, and realizing I was representing my country in such a significant event. I felt immense pride.鈥

Earning her international refereeing badge that same year had symbolized much more than personal achievement.

鈥淥n a personal level, it brought me joy and pride, reflecting the result of my efforts in domestic tournaments,鈥 she said. 鈥淧rofessionally, it represented a greater responsibility 鈥 an opportunity to participate in global competitions and elevate 黑料社区鈥檚 presence in prestigious arenas.鈥

Today, Hazzazi is one of more than a dozen Saudi women certified as referees, marking a cultural shift unthinkable a decade ago.

鈥淭oday, the situation is very promising,鈥 she said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 a growing recognition of women鈥檚 roles, and the federation鈥檚 support has been transformative. Among my colleagues, you can feel the difference 鈥 there鈥檚 more confidence, excitement and opportunities to participate internationally.鈥

Her goals now reach beyond her own career. 鈥淚 want to help develop a new generation of Saudi referees 鈥 both men and women 鈥 to strengthen our national competitions,鈥 she said.

She also has her eyes on the world stage.

鈥淚 hope to represent 黑料社区 at major events, from world championships to the Olympic Games. I want to show that Saudi women can lead in global sports.鈥

Her message to aspiring referees is clear: 鈥淏elieve in yourselves and take the first step, even if it feels difficult. Sports offer vast opportunities. Refereeing, in particular, requires passion, discipline and accuracy. With hard work, success is achievable.鈥

As 黑料社区 invests in global sports and nurtures new talent, Hazzazi sees herself as part of a wider movement.

With a smile, she said, 鈥淲ait for me at the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh this November.鈥

For Hazzazi, weightlifting is not just about judging lifts, it鈥檚 about lifting expectations, breaking barriers and inspiring a new generation of Saudis to take their place at the heart of the action.
