RIYADH: On behalf of Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Assistant Interior Minister Hisham Al-Faleh led the Saudi delegation to the EU–MENA Ministerial Conference.

The conference, inaugurated by Portuguese Home Affairs Minister Maria Lucia Amaral in Lisbon, aims to establish regional political dialogue and enhance security cooperation, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.

Al-Faleh said the Kingdom looks forward to exchanging ideas and future visions. He highlighted the importance of security coordination, combating organized crime, developing law-enforcement agencies and sharing expertise. He also called for strengthening EU–MENA regional cooperation.

Crime in all forms poses major challenges, Al-Faleh said, urging improved international partnerships, the SPA reported.

Ministers from Arab and European countries and representatives of international organizations attended the conference, discussing joint security issues, reviewing new security models, and exploring mechanisms for coordination and information exchange to address regional and international challenges.
