Jameel Motors, together with Changan, has announced the official launch of their flagship showroom in the capital of South Africa, Pretoria. This marks a significant milestone in the brand’s nationwide expansion, following Jameel Motors’ market entry in March this year. Jameel Motors won the distribution agreement through a competitive process involving both local and international companies.
The launch highlights Changan’s strategic positioning within Africa’s largest automotive market. The company also unveiled its latest range of vehicles designed to meet the needs of South African drivers: the Alsvin sedan, CS75 Pro SUV, Hunter Turbo Diesel, Hunter Range Extending Electric Vehicle, and the Deepal S07 EV. This diverse lineup of petrol, diesel and new energy vehicles underscores the importance of offering customers choice and flexibility as the market continues to evolve.
South Africa remains the largest automotive market in the continent and continues to demonstrate exceptional growth. In the first half of 2025, domestic vehicle sales rose by 14 percent compared to the same period last year, putting the market on track to surpass pre-pandemic levels for the first time in five years. Through its partnership with Jameel Motors, Changan will continue to expand to meet this growing demand, ensuring accessibility and convenience for Changan owners across South Africa.
