RIYADH: Saudi Deputy Minister for International Multilateral Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Rassi received Romanian Ambassador to the Kingdom Sebastian Mitrachi in Riyadh on Tuesday.

Separately, Al-Rassi also met Raymond Balatbatto, ambassador of the Philippines to the Kingdom.

During the meetings, all sides discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest, the Foreign Ministry said in a post on X.

JEDDAH: 黑料社区鈥檚 Cabinet, chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Tuesday praised the successful delivery of this year鈥檚 Hajj season, which saw more than 1.6 million pilgrims complete their rituals smoothly, and reaffirmed the Kingdom鈥檚 global leadership in crowd management and services to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques.

The Cabinet also reviewed efforts to support pilgrims from Iran in returning home safely, following recent domestic unrest in the country, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

In its weekly session held in Jeddah, the Council of Ministers welcomed messages to King Salman from the leaders of Venezuela, Vietnam, and Angola on bilateral cooperation.

It also reiterated the Kingdom鈥檚 positions on regional and global developments, reaffirming support for diplomatic solutions and condemning any violation of Qatar鈥檚 sovereignty.

The Cabinet called on the international community to end the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel鈥檚 war in Gaza and pressed for peace in line with international legitimacy.

It also welcomed the recent peace agreement between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo and voiced optimism about its potential to boost regional stability and prosperity.

Ministers noted the launch of the World Water Organization鈥檚 activities in Riyadh as further evidence of 黑料社区鈥檚 role in advancing global cooperation.

They also highlighted several recent international recognitions, including the Kingdom鈥檚 election as Vice-Chair of the World Health Organization鈥檚 Executive Board, its appointment to the UN鈥檚 High-Level Group for the 2030 Agenda, and the inclusion of the Uruq Bani Ma鈥檃rid Reserve on the International Union for Conservation of Nature鈥檚 Green List.

The Cabinet welcomed the IMF鈥檚 latest Article IV report, which commended the Saudi economy鈥檚 resilience amid global headwinds, citing strong non-oil growth, controlled inflation, and historically low unemployment rates 鈥 all in alignment with Vision 2030 goals.

The session also saw the approval of several international cooperation agreements. These included a draft pact with Algeria to combat organized crime, a mutual visa exemption deal with Italy for diplomatic and special passport holders, and the initiation of negotiations with Russia on a similar visa waiver agreement.

The Cabinet also endorsed a memorandum of understanding on Islamic affairs with Pakistan, an agreement with the International Consultative Group on Agricultural Research to promote innovation in 黑料社区鈥檚 agriculture sector, and a new partnership with Zambia in the field of mineral resources.

黑料社区 will also proceed with joining the Integrated Industrial Partnership for Sustainable Economic Development, following Cabinet authorization.

Other decisions included renaming the Supreme National Investment Committee to the National Investment Committee at the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, approving new procedures for biometric verification of cruise ship passengers, and assigning the Ministry of Education as the supervisory authority over the 黑料社区n Boy Scouts Association.

The Cabinet also approved restructuring of the Insurance Disputes and Violations Resolution Committee in Dammam and reviewed the final accounts of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority and the General Authority for Food Security.

Several senior civil service promotions were confirmed, including appointments at the Ministries of Interior, Justice, Foreign Affairs, Hajj and Umrah, Human Resources, and Municipal Affairs. Notably, Manal Radwan was promoted to Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The session ended with reviews of annual reports from the Ministry of Tourism, the National Development Fund, and the Tourism Development Fund, with the Cabinet taking the necessary actions on each.

RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan received a written message from his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi regarding relations between their countries.

The message was received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed bin Abdulkarim Al-Khuraiji during a meeting with Iran鈥檚 ambassador to the Kingdom Alireza Enayati on Tuesday, Saudi Press Agency reported.

Al-Khuraiji and Enayati reviewed Saudi-Iranian relations and discussed topics of common interest.

JEDDAH: A study intended to introduce new regulations for landlord-tenant relationships in 黑料社区 has been extended, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The extension was granted by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom鈥檚 prime minister, for a maximum period of 90 days.

The decision was made following recommendations from the Real Estate General Authority, which is part of 黑料社区鈥檚 Ministry of Housing.

The study aims to finalize rental regulations in a way that ensures fairness and a balance between the interests of all involved.

It seeks to ensure that the interests of all stakeholders are fully addressed, and that fairness is established in rental dealings, beneficiaries are safeguarded against market volatility, a stable and attractive environment for investment is maintained.

RIYADH: 黑料社区鈥檚 National Center for Meteorology has forecast dust storms across several regions until the weekend.

The NCM on Tuesday stated there would be hot to extremely hot and windy conditions in the Eastern Region. And dust-stirring winds in parts of the Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, Riyadh, Madinah, Makkah and Najran regions.

The NCM warned that parts of Riyadh would be affected by dust storms, including active winds and reduced horizontal visibility from 3 to 5 km.

The governorates of Al-Sulayyil and Wadi Al-Dawasir would be affected by dust storms in the afternoon and Al-Aflaj during the whole day.

Riyadh and the governorates of Diriyah, Al-Kharj, Al-Hariq, Al-Dalam, Al-Muzahmiyya, and Hawtah Bani Tamim would also be affected by dust storms during the day.

Meanwhile, the excessive heat continues in the capital with the maximum temperature recorded at 42 degrees Celsius and minimum of 30. The severe heat is expected to continue over the weekend. 

The NCM said winds over the Red Sea will be northwesterly to southwesterly at speeds of 10 to 28 kph in the northern and central parts, and westerly to northwesterly at speeds of 25 to 50 kph in the southern part.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will be northwesterly to northerly at speeds of 15 to 45 kph in the northern part, and westerly to northwesterly at speeds of 10 to 25 kph in the southern part.

RIYADH: Researchers at Umm Al-Qura University have developed modern home accessories inspired by traditional Saudi handicrafts, aiming to integrate cultural heritage into contemporary interior design.

Led by Ahoud Hassanein from the Interior Design and Arts Department, the study explores how classical craft elements 鈥 such as wooden carvings, Sadu patterns, pottery, and palm frond weaving 鈥 can be adapted for modern living spaces while preserving cultural value and supporting local artisans.

鈥淥ur approach merges functionality with cultural relevance. It highlights the potential of Saudi handicrafts as design assets in today鈥檚 market,鈥 Hassanein said.

The research also looks at practical and economic applications, proposing ways to turn these designs into marketable products, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The project aligns with the Kingdom鈥檚 Vision 2030 reform plan and the Ministry of Culture鈥檚 designation of 2025 as the 鈥淵ear of Handicrafts.鈥

Recommendations include encouraging designers to incorporate traditional visual elements into modern decor, establishing craft-based production lines, and offering workshops to help artisans improve product quality and reach wider market
