Artificial intelligence has emerged as a cornerstone of innovation and economic transformation globally, and in 黑料社区, its impact is both profound and far-reaching.

As the Kingdom embarks on a journey to realize the goals of Vision 2030, AI is playing a pivotal role in driving progress, fostering economic diversification, and empowering organizations to embrace the future of technology.

At the heart of Vision 2030 lies a commitment to harnessing cutting-edge technologies such as AI to build a knowledge-based economy and establish 黑料社区 as a leading global hub of innovation.

The recently announced Riyadh Declaration underscores the importance of AI as a transformative force. It emphasizes the need for AI technologies to enable digital access, enhance digital knowledge, and tackle global challenges while creating economic value.

This vision aligns seamlessly with 黑料社区鈥檚 plans to invest $100 billion in establishing a world-class AI technology hub under the banner of 鈥淧roject Transcendence.鈥

This initiative promises to bring together expertise, infrastructure, and innovation to position the Kingdom at the forefront of AI advancements.

Adding to this momentum is GAIA, 黑料社区鈥檚 generative AI startup accelerator program. Launched in Riyadh in May 2023, GAIA represents a bold step toward nurturing a vibrant AI ecosystem by empowering startups and innovators to develop groundbreaking solutions.

Similarly, Waed Ventures, Saudi Aramco鈥檚 venture capital arm, has allocated $100 million to invest in AI startups, further solidifying the Kingdom鈥檚 commitment to building a thriving technological landscape.

Notably, Aramco鈥檚 METABRAIN 鈥 a 250 billion parameter large language model 鈥 stands as a testament to 黑料社区鈥檚 ambition to lead in AI innovation, showcasing the potential to revolutionize industries and create unparalleled value.

The potential impact of AI on 黑料社区鈥檚 economy is substantial. A PwC report estimates that AI could contribute $135 billion to the Kingdom鈥檚 gross domestic product by 2030, a significant portion of the nation鈥檚 economic growth.

This transformative potential is already becoming a reality as organizations of all sizes and across all sectors embrace AI to optimize operations, drive growth, and accelerate progress toward Vision 2030.

In manufacturing, for instance, Obeikan Investment Group leveraged Azure OpenAI and IoT technologies to develop and implement a smart factory platform across 22 of the company鈥檚 factories.

As a result, the organization achieved a 30 percent increase in overall equipment effectiveness, a 30 percent reduction in costs, as well as significant reductions in waste and energy consumption.

Similarly, the 黑料社区n Mining Co. (Ma鈥檃den), the largest mining company in the Middle East, adopted Microsoft 365 Copilot to help employees spend less time on administrative tasks and instead focus on more strategic tasks out in the field.

Over a period of six months, employees were able to significantly enhance their productivity, saving around 27 minutes per day that were previously spent on unnecessary meetings, 14 minutes on searching for and summarizing documents, and 18 minutes on creating high-quality content.

In education, Gameit, an innovative Saudi startup, leveraged Azure OpenAI to develop AI-powered games that enhance cognitive skills such as attention, memory, logical reasoning, auditory and visual perception, and social skills in children.

With our investments in a new cloud datacenter region, we are providing the foundation for Saudi organizations to innovate and lead in the era of AI.

The games are scientifically designed to help all school students, including those facing learning challenges.

Meanwhile, Diriyah, the historic birthplace of the first Saudi state and home to the UNESCO World Heritage site of At-Turaif, utilized the advanced capabilities of Copilot Studio to develop and deploy the 鈥淐XQA AI Agent,鈥 which is empowering its teams to enhance customer experiences, analyze data to uncover key trends, develop tailored solutions, and efficiently manage complex on-site operations.

Such use cases highlight the transformative potential of AI in addressing complex challenges, fostering innovation, and delivering tangible benefits to society.

As a longstanding partner in 黑料社区鈥檚 digital transformation journey, Microsoft is deeply committed to empowering organizations to leverage the latest advancements in AI and other transformative technologies to achieve their goals.

Our investments in the Kingdom reflect this commitment, specifically the construction of a new cloud datacenter region that will empower businesses with access to scalable, highly secure, and resilient cloud services.

Recently, we completed construction of three Azure Availability Zones, which will serve as the necessary foundation for AI innovation, enabling organizations to access the latest AI technologies and services with enhanced security and reliability.

Our collaborations with leading Saudi organizations further underscore our dedication to fostering a vibrant technological ecosystem.

By partnering with government entities, enterprises, and startups, we aim to create solutions that drive innovation, attract global investments, and position 黑料社区 as a global hub for technology and talent.

As 黑料社区 continues its journey toward realizing Vision 2030, AI stands as a powerful catalyst for change. The Kingdom鈥檚 bold investments in AI infrastructure, startups, and innovation are not just setting the stage for the future 鈥 they are defining it.

We have seen how organizations like Obeikan, Ma鈥檃den, Gameit, and Diriyah are already reaping the tangible benefits of AI, from increased efficiency and cost savings to enhanced customer experiences and educational advancements.

This is not a distant vision; it is the reality unfolding now.

With such undeniable momentum, the time to embrace AI at scale is not tomorrow, but today. The opportunities for transformation are vast, and the potential to contribute to 黑料社区鈥檚 goals is immense. Don鈥檛 just observe the AI revolution; be a part of it.

Microsoft stands ready to support everyone on this journey, empowering organizations to navigate the complexities of the digital age, accelerate their AI transformation, and unlock new opportunities for growth and prosperity.

With our investments in a new cloud datacenter region, we are providing the foundation for Saudi organizations to innovate and lead in the era of AI.

We look forward to the road ahead as we help accelerate progress toward Vision 2030 and build a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Kingdom.

Greek PM warns Israel risks losing friends
  • Mitsotakis said: 鈥淭he continuation of this course of action will ultimately harm Israel鈥檚 own interests鈥
  • 鈥淚 tell my Israeli friends they risk alienating all their remaining allies if they persist鈥

UNITED NATIONS: Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, a key partner of Israel within the European Union, warned Friday that Israel risked losing remaining friends with its destructive war in Gaza.
Addressing the UN General Assembly, the center-right Greek leader said Israel had a right to self-defense after the October 7, 2023 attacks by Hamas but cannot 鈥渏ustify the death of thousands of children.鈥
鈥淕reece maintains a strategic partnership with Israel, but this does not prevent us from speaking openly and frankly,鈥 Mitsotakis said.
鈥淭he continuation of this course of action will ultimately harm Israel鈥檚 own interests, leading to an erosion of international support,鈥 he said.
鈥淚 tell my Israeli friends they risk alienating all their remaining allies if they persist on a path that is shattering the potential of a two-state solution.鈥
Greece did not join European powers including France and Britain, which in recent days recognized a Palestinian state as they voiced exasperation with Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 鈥 who in a fiery UN speech earlier Friday accused Western leaders of fanning antisemitism 鈥 flew over Greece as he took a circuitous route to New York in light of an arrest warrant he faces from the International Criminal Court.
Greece has found common interests with Israel due to tensions both have with Turkiye, which has expanded influence sharply in Syria since the fall of leader Bashar Assad in December.
But Israel also faces wide public criticism in Greece and Mitsotakis鈥檚 left-wing predecessor Alexis Tsipras has urged recognition of a Palestinian state.

  • 鈥淭he suspects were subsequently transferred to the Shin Bet for questioning,鈥 the spokesman added
  • The detentions 鈥渨ill only fuel public anger,鈥 said Abdul Rahman Shadid, a Hamas official in the West Bank

NABLUS, Palestinian Territories: The Israeli military detained several Palestinians in an overnight raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, an AFP journalist at the scene said on Friday.
When contacted by AFP, an Israeli military spokesman confirmed the raid and said that 鈥渇orces operated in the Nablus area to apprehend several suspects involved in terrorist activities.鈥
鈥淭he suspects were subsequently transferred to the Shin Bet for questioning,鈥 the spokesman added, referring to the Israeli domestic intelligence agency.
An official from Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas said that 鈥渇ormer prisoners, journalists, academics and members of the Legislative Council,鈥 were among those targeted.
The detentions 鈥渨ill only fuel public anger,鈥 said Abdul Rahman Shadid, a Hamas official in the West Bank, which Israel has occupied since 1967.
Violence in the West Bank has soared since the Hamas attack on Israel triggered the Gaza war in October 2023.
Since then, Israeli troops and settlers have killed at least 983 Palestinians in the West Bank, including many militants, according to health ministry figures.
Over the same period, at least 36 Israelis, including members of security forces, have been killed in Palestinian attacks or during Israeli military operations, according to official figures.
Meanwhile, the Allenby border crossing 鈥 which is the only international gateway for Palestinians to leave the West Bank that does not require entering Israel 鈥 reopened on Friday, but later than scheduled.
The crossing had been largely closed since a Jordanian truck driver transporting humanitarian aid to Gaza shot dead an Israeli soldier and a reserve officer at the border last week.
On Tuesday, Palestinian and Jordanian authorities said Israel was indefinitely closing the crossing, which Palestinians feared was retaliation by Israel for France and other Western countries formally recognizing a Palestinian state.
Israel announced on Thursday it would reopen the crossing only for passenger traffic from the next morning.
At around 11:00 am (0800 GMT) on Friday, Palestinian travelers confirmed the reopening, roughly three hours later than scheduled.
Thousands of people gathered in front of the terminal, an AFP journalist on the scene reported.
In an angry UN address on Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to block a Palestinian state, accusing European leaders of pushing his country into 鈥渘ational suicide鈥 and rewarding Hamas.

Analysts hail revival in US-Pakistan ties but warn partnership remains transactional

Analysts hail revival in US-Pakistan ties but warn partnership remains transactional
  • Visit by Pakistani PM and army chief to White House marks diplomatic breakthrough, analysts say
  • Experts caution that while ties are warming, expectations must be kept modest

KARACHI: This week鈥檚 White House visit by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir marks a dramatic revival of engagement with Washington but is unlikely to evolve into a deep strategic alliance, analysts said, as both sides navigate a relationship still rooted in transactional interests.

The joint appearance before President Donald Trump was widely seen as symbolizing a new phase in bilateral ties and underscoring Islamabad鈥檚 renewed relevance to Washington鈥檚 evolving security and geopolitical priorities. But experts said the future of the relationship will depend on whether exploratory talks translate into tangible cooperation on trade, counterterrorism, and Middle East diplomacy.

Michael Kugelman, a Washington-based South Asia analyst, described the visit as 鈥渟ignificant鈥 for several reasons, including the fact that it was the first time a Pakistani prime minister had been invited to the White House since Imran Khan鈥檚 trip in 2019.

Khan was never invited during President Biden鈥檚 four years in office despite repeated overtures, making the invitation from Trump to Sharif and Munir politically significant in Islamabad. More than just a sideline conversation in New York, Kugelman said, the formal invitation to Washington 鈥済ives the meeting a certain level of prominence and prestige.鈥

The symbolism of Sharif and Munir appearing together was not lost on observers.

Kugelman noted that while a prime minister and army chief had previously visited Washington together, this time Munir鈥檚 role was far more prominent.

That visibility, he said, 鈥渃onveys a strong sense of civil military solidarity,鈥 a rare alignment in a country where tensions between civilian and military leaders are frequent.

Pakistan鈥檚 military has long been the country鈥檚 most powerful institution, often shaping foreign policy and security decisions even under elected governments. In light of this, some observers, Kugelman added, may see the joint appearance as 鈥渁 major blow to democracy鈥 given 鈥渢he power of an unelected leader鈥 in foreign policy decisions.

Pakistan鈥檚 former special representative on Afghanistan, Asif Durrani, dismissed concerns about civil-military imbalance, saying both leaders were representing the state, not individual offices.

鈥淲hen you go abroad, you talk about the state of Pakistan,鈥 he said. 鈥淏oth would have been expressing the views which Pakistan has.鈥

Beyond optics, analysts said the discussions were likely dominated by strategic and economic issues, including US access to Pakistan鈥檚 critical minerals and other commercial opportunities.

Kugelman described the recent flurry of engagements as 鈥渇ocused on aspirational and exploratory forms of cooperation,鈥 with 鈥渧ery little substantive cooperation鈥 so far beyond counterterrorism.

He cautioned that the relationship remains 鈥渢ransactional in nature,鈥 raising questions about 鈥渨ho wants what and who鈥檚 getting what.鈥

US鈥揚akistan ties have historically been shaped by specific security or counterterrorism goals, from Cold War cooperation to the post-9/11 alliance, rather than broader strategic alignment.

Counterterrorism was almost certainly a major topic, he added, with Pakistan 鈥渃onfronting a very significant terrorist threat鈥 from militants on its western border and likely urging US support against the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a banned Pakistani Taliban group responsible for dozens of deadly attacks in recent years and operating largely from safe havens in neighboring Afghanistan.

Washington, Kugelman said, will expect Islamabad to continue helping monitor and track groups like the regional affiliate of Daesh active in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Durrani said Pakistan鈥檚 priorities included 鈥渞obust trade ties and, of course, cooperation in counter-terrorism, including terrorism emanating from Afghanistan.鈥

The two sides also likely discussed Pakistan鈥檚 potential role as a diplomatic go-between in the Middle East.

Kugelman said Washington 鈥渕ay want Pakistan to serve the role of a messenger鈥 to interlocutors like Iran, where US access is limited. But differences over Israel鈥檚 war in Gaza and Pakistan鈥檚 refusal to recognize the state would 鈥渋mpose limits鈥 on how far cooperation could go.

Israel鈥檚 ongoing military campaign in Gaza, launched in October 2023, has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and provoked widespread condemnation across the Muslim world.

Durrani reaffirmed Islamabad鈥檚 stance, saying Pakistan 鈥渃ondemned the Israeli atrocities鈥 and remains 鈥減art of the consensus 鈥 which calls for two states with Jerusalem as its capital of Palestine.鈥

RECALIBRATION

Despite Trump鈥檚 more confrontational approach toward India 鈥 including higher tariffs and public criticism over Russian oil purchases 鈥 Durrani said Washington鈥檚 decades-old strategic partnership with New Delhi remains intact.

New Delhi has sharply increased imports of discounted Russian crude since Moscow鈥檚 2022 invasion of Ukraine, straining ties with Washington and prompting Trump to raise tariffs on Indian goods.

鈥淚t鈥檚 more than two decades that they have forged a strategic tie,鈥 Durrani said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 not going to go away with the arrival of Trump.鈥

He also added that Pakistan鈥檚 鈥渄eep-rooted鈥 relationship with China was not affected by renewed engagement with Washington.

America is not a strategic partner in the same way, he said.

China is Pakistan鈥檚 largest trading partner and main infrastructure investor, anchoring its Belt and Road Initiative projects in the region.

The White House meeting also has domestic implications.

Veteran journalist Mazhar Abbas said the visit has strengthened the government鈥檚 position at home.

鈥淧resident Trump鈥檚 warm reception of both the Prime Minister and the army chief send a strong message of US support for the current administration,鈥 he said.

Modi鈥檚 absence from Washington, he added, 鈥渉as further worked in the government鈥檚 favor.鈥 Yet he warned that worsening violence in Gaza could 鈥渟trengthen the opposition鈥檚 narrative鈥 against the government.

Kugelman urged Islamabad to temper its expectations, warning that Trump is 鈥渧ery mercurial鈥 and prone to 鈥淯-turns.鈥

Renewed warmth could evaporate quickly, he said, particularly if Washington鈥檚 ties with India rebound or if US interest in Pakistan鈥檚 mineral or energy sectors wanes.

鈥淲e鈥檙e looking at a revitalized relationship,鈥 Kugelman said, 鈥渂ut not a new strategic partnership.鈥

Durrani said Pakistan 鈥渟hould be ready to deal with new realities with open eyes鈥 while taking advantage of the current 鈥渂onhomie.鈥

In May 2025, Pakistan and India exchanged artillery, missile and drone strikes during a four-day conflict that killed dozens before a US-brokered ceasefire halted hostilities in a key moment in which Trump positioned himself as a mediator in South Asia鈥檚 most volatile rivalry.

That episode and Washington鈥檚 recent outreach underscore how shifting geopolitical dynamics are shaping the recalibration of US鈥揚akistan relations, even as both sides remain cautious about how far this new engagement can go.

Dr. Asfandyar Mir, a senior fellow at the Stimson Center, said Trump鈥檚 current posture reflects that shift. 鈥

Unlike previous administrations during the war on terror era, I don鈥檛 see him placing heavy expectations or demanding specific commitments from Pakistan,鈥 he said.

鈥淗e likely wants Pakistan to be supportive on Middle East issues as they unfold, because that鈥檚 a priority for him. This kind of presidential attention and engagement will likely translate into improvements in functional cooperation across commercial, economic, and security domains.鈥

World must not fail children of Gaza: Pakistan PM
  • Shehbaz Sharif accuses 鈥榬ogue鈥 Israel of 鈥榞enocidal鈥 campaign during UN address
  • 鈥楾he plight of the Palestinian people is one of the most heart-wrenching tragedies of our times鈥

LONDON: Pakistan鈥檚 prime minister on Friday warned the world that it risks failing the children of Gaza, and called for a ceasefire in the war-torn Palestinian enclave.

In his address to the UN General Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif said Israel is inflicting 鈥渦nspeakable terror鈥 on Palestinian civilians, accusing it of a 鈥済enocidal鈥 campaign.

鈥淭he smallest coffins are the heaviest to carry,鈥 he said. 鈥淭herefore, we cannot, and we must not fail these children of Gaza, or any child anywhere in the world. We must find a path to a ceasefire now.鈥

He called for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state free from the 鈥渟hackles鈥 of Israel, and condemned the ongoing violence of Jewish settlers in the occupied West Bank.

鈥淧akistan firmly supports the demand of the Palestinian people for the establishment of a sovereign Palestine state with pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem) as its capital. Palestine can no longer remain under Israeli shackles. It must be liberated,鈥 he said.

鈥淭he plight of the Palestinian people is one of the most heart-wrenching tragedies of our times,鈥 he added. 鈥淭his prolonged injustice is a stain on the global conscious and our collective moral failure for nearly 80 years.

鈥淭he Palestinians have courageously endured Israel鈥檚 brutal occupation of their homeland. In the West Bank, each passing day brings new brutality 鈥 illegal settlers who terrorize and kill with impunity 鈥 and nobody can challenge them and question them.鈥

The suffering of civilians, particularly women and children, was at the forefront of Sharif鈥檚 address.

鈥淚n Gaza, Israel鈥檚 genocidal onslaught has unleashed unspeakable terror upon women and children in a manner we haven鈥檛 witnessed in (the) annals of history, in blind pursuit of its nefarious goals,鈥 he said.

鈥淭he Israeli leadership has unleashed a shameful campaign against the innocent Palestinians, which history will always remember as one of its darkest chapters.鈥

Sharif also condemned Israel鈥檚 strikes against Hamas negotiators in Qatar鈥檚 capital. 鈥淚srael鈥檚 recent attack on Doha, and its continued violations of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of numerous countries, is reflective of its rogue behavior,鈥 he said. 鈥淧akistan stands unwaveringly with our brothers and sisters in Qatar.鈥

Sharif commended countries that recently recognized Palestine. Pakistan was 鈥渁mong the first to recognize Palestine鈥檚 statehood in 1988, and now we welcome the recognition of the state of Palestine by a number of countries recently around the globe, and urge others to also follow suit, because time and tide wait for none,鈥 he said.

China briefs Pakistan on J-35, unmanned fighter jets as Islamabad seeks to bolster air defenses

China briefs Pakistan on J-35, unmanned fighter jets as Islamabad seeks to bolster air defenses
  • The statement comes months after Pakistan declared victory in a military standoff with India that saw Islamabad use China鈥檚 J-10Cs fighter jets
  • Over past five years, China has supplied 81 percent of Pakistan鈥檚 imported weapons, according to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute

ISLAMABAD: Chinese authorities have briefed Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari on advanced J-35 stealth fighter jets and unmanned aerial combat aircraft during his recent visit to China, with Pakistan expressing interest in modern Chinese defense technology, a senator who accompanied the president on his recent China visit told reporters on Friday.

President Zardari this month visited China on a 10-day official trip, where he became the "first" foreign leader to visit Aviation Industry Corporation of China's (AVIC) Advanced Aircraft Complex in Chengdu, according to his office.

Zardari was briefed on the J-35 stealth multirole combat aircraft, J-20 stealth fighter aircraft, J-10 fighter jet, co-production of JF-17 Thunder with Pakistan, unmanned aerial vehicles, fully automated units, and integrated command-and-control systems for multi-domain operations.

Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, a member of Zardari's Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) who accompanied him to China, said that the transfer of modern technology and defense equipment takes time, but said Islamabad would not let its neighbor dominate Pakistan in defense field, in an obvious reference to India.

鈥淥ne thing is certain Pakistan will not allow its neighboring [enemy] country to dominate it and will remain its equal in the defense field,鈥 he said.

In the coming times, Mandviwalla said, defense cooperation between the two countries will further increase, bringing the "world鈥檚 best technology to Pakistan."

A rising military superpower, China hasn鈥檛 fought a major war in more than four decades but has raced under President Xi Jinping to modernize its armed forces, pouring resources into developing sophisticated weaponry and cutting-edge technologies. It has also extended that modernization drive to Pakistan, long hailed by Beijing as its 鈥渋ronclad brother.鈥

Over the past five years, China has supplied 81 percent of Pakistan鈥檚 imported weapons, according to data from the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Those exports include advanced fighter jets, missiles, radars and air-defense systems. Some Pakistan-made weapons have also been co-developed with Chinese firms or built with Chinese technology and expertise.

The development comes months after Pakistan declared victory in a four-day military conflict with India, saying its air force used Chinese J-10C aircraft to shoot down six Indian fighter jets, including three French Rafales. Though Indian officials have acknowledged losses, they have not specified the number of jets downed by Pakistan.

Murtaza Solangi, the president's spokesman, said Zardari during his visit to the sprawling complex in Chengdu boarded a J-10 fighter jet, which was "instrumental" in Pakistan鈥檚 four-day standoff with India in May.

"The president was briefed on China鈥檚 latest aerospace capabilities," he said.

The president鈥檚 visit was aimed at strengthening social ties with China, according to PPP members.

"During the visit, six agreements were signed between Pakistan and China, four of which were business-to-business deals," Mandviwalla said.
