RIYADH:聽General Supervisor of the King Abdulaziz Public Library Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Muammar launched the Thara Saudi and Athar initiatives at the third Saudi Tourism Forum in Riyadh.

Through Thara Saudi the KAPL offers a number of programs that contribute to highlighting cultural tourism, while Athar is an interactive platform inspired by one of the pioneering national documentation projects, 鈥淭he Encyclopedia of the Kingdom of 黑料社区.鈥

Speaking at the launch, Muammar said: 鈥淭he Thara 黑料社区 is the initiative through which the library seeks to provide a distinctive cultural tourism experience that reflects the rich and diverse history and culture of the Kingdom and aims to present a sustainable vision that contributes to enhancing local culture in global languages.

鈥淚t comes as an expression of the efforts of 40 years of cultural and cognitive work, which created a national legacy and a sustainable impact,鈥 added Muammar.

He said the KAPL also launched the Athar initiative, which represents the historical monuments and landmarks mentioned in the encyclopedia of 黑料社区, enabling tourists to discover the Kingdom in an unprecedented way.

This project is designed to enhance the Kingdom鈥檚 position as a global destination for cultural tourism, and reflects the great diversity 黑料社区 enjoys.

Through its pavilion at the Saudi Tourism Forum, which was held from Jan. 7-9 at the Riyadh Front, the KAPL seeks to enhance cultural awareness and provide knowledge content that contributes to highlighting the Saudi national heritage, and encourages the exploration of the Kingdom鈥檚 unique cultural destinations.

In November the KAPL聽launched an initiative to position 黑料社区 as a top global destination for cultural tourism by attracting visitors worldwide to explore the library鈥檚 diverse branches.

This project aligns with the Kingdom鈥檚 Vision 2030 by strengthening national identity, fostering cultural exchange, and supporting sustainable development.

Through its efforts, the KAPL seeks to showcase 黑料社区鈥檚 rich heritage, folk arts, and traditions, while deepening citizens鈥 connections to their cultural roots and contributing to economic diversification.

RIYADH: Saudia Group鈥檚 Project Management Office won the Strategy Excellence award at a recent event in Riyadh, with a company executive calling the recognition a milestone in the carrier鈥檚 transformation.

Emad Al-Ghamdi, general manager of transformation and PMO at Saudia Holding, spoke to Arab News at about how this reflects the group鈥檚 efforts with the support of the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, and the group鈥檚 director general.

The Global Project Excellence Awards, now in their fifth cycle, honor standout local and international organizations.

The award 鈥渁lso highlights the level of maturity, capability and excellence we have achieved in managing our strategic Transformation Program,鈥 Al-Ghamdi added.

Al-Ghamdi added that the company has 鈥渁dopted advanced portfolio management tools, predictive analytics, and (is) preparing for AI-driven dashboards to enhance visibility and proactive governance.鈥

Al-Ghamdi went on to say: 鈥淲e see the PMO as an enabler of strategy, ensuring every project directly contributes to operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and national development objectives aligned with Vision 2030.鈥

He said that Saudia鈥檚 future PMO strategy focuses on sustainability, intelligence and impact.

The group plans to deepen digital intelligence, strengthen local content, and drive initiatives, aiming to set new regional benchmarks for PMO performance.

鈥淎s we look ahead, our vision is clear: we will reach new heights and farther destinations to make the PMO a strategic engine that accelerates transformation, empowers teams and sets new benchmarks for excellence across the region,鈥 he said.

Offering advice to emerging PMO leaders, Al-Ghamdi added: 鈥淟ead with purpose and adaptability.

鈥淪uccess is no longer about control; it鈥檚 about enabling collaboration, fostering innovation, and keeping your organization focused on value.鈥

The Project Management Offices Summit 2025 was held on Nov. 9, 2025, at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh as part of the Global Project Management Forum.

The event included a ceremony honoring the winners of the fifth cycle of the Global Project Excellence Awards, under the patronage and presence of Badr Al-Dulami, deputy minister of transport and logistics services for roads affairs, celebrating 24 organizations and 15 individuals on International Project Management Day.
