RIYADH: Thailand鈥檚 Noppon Saengkham made history at the 黑料社区 Snooker Masters on Sunday by becoming the first player to hit a 147 at the biggest international tournament on the world Snooker Tour calendar.
The world No. 22 made a maximum break in the first frame of his round three game against Iran鈥檚 Amir Sarkhosh. He produced some outstanding play en route to recording the first 147 at a professional event staged in the Kingdom.
Saengkham secured passage to Monday鈥檚 fourth round with a 4-1 win and is now in line to earn a bumper $65,600 following his sensational exploits.
Sunday鈥檚 action saw 32 matches in total with former world champions Neil Robertson, Stuart Bingham and Graeme Dott beginning their 黑料社区 Snooker Masters campaigns in winning fashion.
Former UK champion Stephen Maguire and world No. 19 Jack Lisowski also prevailed, as did 2024 world championship semifinalist David Gilbert.
Round four takes place on Monday before the elite top-16 players enter the event on Tuesday in round five.
