The partnership between BAE Systems and Al-Salam Aircraft Company has been hailed for its success in advancing local repair and maintenance capability on Royal Saudi Air Force Typhoon aircraft.
Andy Carr, BAE Systems 黑料社区 CEO & MD, said: 鈥淭he work we have completed as a partnership has been critical in working toward our Typhoon In-Kingdom industrialization objectives.鈥
Monther M. Thayeb, BAE Systems spokesman and PR and communications director, said: 鈥淎s part of the respective "In-Kingdom industrial participation commitments, the businesses have successfully established local Saudi capability that will enable repair, maintenance and overhaul of windscreen and transparency on the RSAF jets from June 2015 onward.鈥
This latest achievement follows the successful transfer of Typhoon avionic capabilities to the Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) in June 2014, he said.
鈥淭he success has been made possible through the collaboration of BAE Systems and Al-Salam to install and commission aerospace ground equipment into an Al-Salam facility last year,鈥 he added.
This was followed by the delivery of on-site training in the first quarter of 2015. Certification of BAE Systems supplier approval was completed recently allowing the work to happen in 黑料社区.
