  • Forward, 27, joins from G League club Westchester Knicks until end of season

DUBAI: Dubai Basketball have announced the signing of 27-year-old forward Matt Ryan, who joins the club on a contract through to the end of the season.
Ryan brings NBA experience, having appeared in 82 regular-season games, with career averages of 9.4 minutes and 3.7 points per game, while shooting 40.2 percent from three-point range.
Ryan has demonstrated his scoring ability and versatility in the NBA G League. Most recently, he averaged around 15.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game during a stint with the Westchester Knicks. He has the size and skill set to play both power forward and small forward, offering front-court flexibility and reliable shooting.
As the newest addition to the roster, Ryan shared his thoughts on joining the EuroLeague debutants, and said: “Dubai Basketball is creating something special. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the club as my first experience in EuroLeague. I’m here to compete and help my teammates as we strive to win at the highest level and make our fans proud.â€
A shooter with solid experience at the highest levels of the game, Ryan will bolster the roster and bring a fresh dimension to the team’s forward positions.

General Manager Dejan Kamenjasevic said: “Matt is an elite shooter who can open the floor for us right away, and his size and range give our offense an important new dimension.
“He has proven he can perform in top competitions, and we are confident he will adapt quickly to our system and contribute to our success. Players like him are not easy to find on the market, which is why we are very pleased with this new addition.â€
The announcement comes as Dubai Basketball attempt to create history in their debut EuroLeague season. Having played in the ABA League in 2024-25 — finishing third overall — the UAE-based team are now fighting for glory among Europe’s elite in two leagues.
The Dubai roster boasts talent from across the world and, with Ryan’s addition, the team have shown they are determined to further strengthen their lineup.
The season progresses with round 11 of the EuroLeague taking place on home soil at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on Nov.14 against Lithuanian side Zalgiris Kaunas.
