RIYADH: Baha University has been selected for the 2025 cohort of the IBM Impact Accelerator program to develop the CH-MARL framework, an advanced artificial intelligence solution for coordinating transport and port fleets.

The project aims to reduce fleet downtime, fuel use, and carbon emissions across key logistical hubs, aligning with Vision 2030’s sustainability goals, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.

Abdullah Al-Hussein, the university’s president, said the participation enhances its research standing, expands opportunities for student researchers, and strengthens its impact on the Kingdom’s transport and logistics sector.

Research team leader Saad Al-Qithami said the CH-MARL project uses AI and cloud computing to transform fleet management and logistics operations, supporting the Kingdom’s sustainability agenda.

He added that the project will enable seamless transitions between simulation and live operations, cutting downtime and fuel use while improving air quality in major logistical centers, contributing to Vision 2030 and global climate goals.
