Saudi leaders congratulate Karol Nawrocki on winning Poland鈥檚 presidential elections

RIYADH: 黑料社区鈥檚 King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman each sent a cable of congratulations to Karol Nawrocki after winning Poland鈥檚 presidential elections on Monday.

The King and Crown Prince wished the president success in his duties and the Polish people further progress and prosperity, the Saudi Press Agency said.

Nawrocki won 50.89% of votes in a very tight race against Warsaw Mayor Rafa艂 Trzaskowski, who received 49.11%.

RIYADH: 黑料社区 marked International Youth Day on Tuesday, highlighting a number of initiatives supporting the country鈥檚 young population.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development inaugurated a new Youth Development Award, which received more than 300 submissions.

鈥淭hrough this award, we seek to motivate all parties to empower our youth, who have proven to be the nation鈥檚 true wealth and the leaders of its development journey,鈥 ministry spokesperson Mohammed Al-Rizqi told Arab News.

On Tuesday, the General Authority for Statistics revealed statistics from 2024 that showed 69.4% of the population of 黑料社区 is now under the age of 35.

The International Islamic Youth Symposium also issued a statement affirming the Kingdom鈥檚 achievements in supporting young people.

It praised the country鈥檚 programs and initiatives aimed at supporting young people and setting them up for successful careers.

鈥淥n International Youth Day, we take pride in the efforts and achievements of Saudi youth, celebrating their pivotal role in realizing national aspirations,鈥 said Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Ahmed Al-Rajhi in a post on X.

鈥淎nd because our youth are a treasure, we at @HRSD_SA strive to develop young people, enhance their community participation and build their capabilities to be influential locally and globally.鈥

Young people between the ages of 15 and 39 make up the largest percentage of the Kingdom鈥檚 population.

To support and empower this segment of the population, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development organizes a number of activities and workshops as part of its Youth Development Strategy launched in 2024.

The ministry also set up the General Directorate of Youth Development to provide vocational training and volunteer opportunities.

A professional certification program recently qualified 100 male and female workers in various fields.

International Youth Day is celebrated by more than 150 countries around the world.

It was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1999, and this year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淟ocal Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,鈥 which highlights the role of youth in advancing sustainable development.

RIYADH: The second Event Tech Meetup 2025, held at the Bayt Al-Thaqafa 鈥 Al-Ta鈥檃wun Public Library in Riyadh on Sunday and Monday, attracted a diverse audience from both the public and private sectors.

The event, organized by the National Events Center, featured specialized workshops, brainstorming sessions, and a showcase of technological innovations tailored for the events industry.

Lojain Al-Harbi, founder and CEO of Dulani, reflected on her experience at EventTech Tank, which allowed entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to potential investors.

She said: 鈥淚t feels amazing. Months of hard work have paid off 鈥 seeing our results is a completely different feeling. We鈥檙e grateful for this opportunity.鈥

Abdulaziz Al-Subaei, founder of Jawlat, echoed her sentiments. 鈥淭his is truly an excellent opportunity. Having direct exposure to investors is incredibly valuable, especially since we haven鈥檛 had much interest before,鈥 he said.

Another participant, Abdullah Al-Hajji, CEO of Eventify, told Arab News that the event had been a successful one for the company. 鈥淲e even secured an investment, which is an incredible result for us,鈥 he added.

Budoor Al-Malik, co-founder and CCO of MILA Celebration, emphasized the importance of the meetup for startups in the event tech space, which allowed the company to 鈥渃onnect with like-minded individuals and investors who share our passion.鈥

The opening program of the meetup included live demonstrations from industry innovators. One of the highlights was the National Events Center鈥檚 presentation, titled 鈥淣o Waiting, Digital Innovation Creates the Experience.鈥

This was centered around their 鈥淪KIP Q鈥 solution, which aims to enhance visitor experiences by streamlining entry and reducing wait times.

Additionally, the Ministry of Tourism showcased their platform 鈥淒ecisions Made in the Moment,鈥 which utilizes advanced analytics to inform tourism strategies.

Two expert panels delved into the transformative impacts of technology on the events sector.

The first panel, 鈥淗ow Artificial Intelligence Shapes the Future of Events in the Kingdom,鈥 discussed AI鈥檚 potential to lower operational costs and improve event management.

The second panel, 鈥淒ata Drives the Event Scene,鈥 focused on how AI can convert data into actionable insights.

Many startups presented their products in hopes of attracting attention from prominent investors, who were eager to explore new opportunities.

The 鈥淓vent Tech Meetup 2025鈥 is part of the broader 鈥淓vent Tech 2025鈥 initiative, aimed at accelerating digital transformation within 黑料社区鈥檚 events sector.

This initiative focuses on nurturing the entrepreneurial ecosystem, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030.

JEDDAH: Prince Saud bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Turki has made history as the first Saudi officer cadet to be awarded the prestigious International Sword at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

The prince received the honor during the Sovereign鈥檚 Parade on Aug. 8, recognizing him as the top-performing international cadet among a cohort from across the globe. The award celebrates exceptional leadership, discipline and military excellence.

Prince Saud鈥檚 achievement marks a milestone in Saudi participation at Sandhurst, underscoring his dedication, resilience and ability to lead under pressure.

Brig. Ben Wilde, British defense attache to 黑料社区, told Arab News: 鈥淭he Kingdom of 黑料社区 has a long history with the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, and a deep defense relationship that stretches back to the Second World War. 

鈥淭his stellar achievement by Officer Cadet Prince Saud highlights the value of what Sandhurst offers; some of the finest military leadership training to be found anywhere in the world. It is hoped that the relationship with Sandhurst will go from strength to strength in the future as the Kingdom鈥檚 military forces evolve to meet the challenges of the future.鈥

Wilde said that what set Prince Saud apart was his immense physical and mental resilience. He led by example during the most demanding physical challenges, even inspiring those observing Ramadan to maintain rigorous training throughout the holy month.

He is a superb communicator and military planner, achieving one of the highest scores on the entire course in the challenging military planning examination. 

On the field, he excelled in leading infantry tactical operations, demonstrating calm under pressure, strategic acumen and the ability to inspire his team during realistic combat exercises.

Beyond his operational skills, he served as an outstanding representative for his country, volunteering to lead Eid Al-Fitr celebrations and fostering an understanding of Islamic culture within a diverse environment.

Selfless, professional, humble and gracious, he proved himself a natural leader and role model for all cadets on the commissioning course.

鈥淭his is a magnificent achievement by Prince Saud,鈥 Wilde said. 鈥淭o be the first Saudi to win this prestigious award is appropriate recognition of the determination, courage and talent he has demonstrated throughout some of the most demanding leadership training in the world. He is an outstanding ambassador for his family and his country, and has a hugely promising future.鈥

The ceremony at Sandhurst was attended by senior military officials, dignitaries and members of Prince Saud鈥檚 family. The British Embassy extended its congratulations and reaffirmed its commitment to strong defense ties between the two countries.

RIYADH: Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman chaired the cabinet session in Neom on Tuesday, briefing ministers on his recent meeting with Jordan鈥檚 King Abdullah II.

Discussions between the two leaders addressed bilateral relations, regional issues, and developments in Palestine, state news agency SPA reported. 

The crown prince also updated the cabinet on his call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who expressed appreciation for the Kingdom鈥檚 efforts in supporting Palestinian statehood and encouraging international recognition.

Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari said the cabinet welcomed announcements by Australia and New Zealand regarding recognition of the State of Palestine, praising growing global consensus around a two-state solution with 1967 borders and East Jerusalem as the capital.

The cabinet also condemned Israeli actions in Gaza, describing them as occupation and accusing the Israeli authorities of committing starvation, ethnic cleansing, and other violations. It warned that the inability of the international community and the UN Security Council to halt such actions undermines international law and threatens global stability.

The cabinet also reviewed matters on Ukraine, reiterated the Kingdom鈥檚 support for diplomatic efforts toward resolving the crisis, following a phone call between the crown prince and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The council also welcomed the announcement of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, expressing hope for stability in the region.

DUBAI: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned on Tuesday the killing of journalists Anas Al-Sharif and Mohammed Qureiqi, along with several other media professionals, following Israel鈥檚 targeting of a journalists鈥 tent in Gaza City.
In a statement, the OIC described the attack as a violation of international law and a breach of press freedom, noting that 242 journalists have been killed in the occupied Palestinian territory since Oct. 7, 2023.
The organization said these actions form part of what it called systematic violations against the media, aimed at obstructing the flow of information to the global community.
The OIC held Israel, as the occupying power, responsible for the incident and called for an international investigation to hold those responsible accountable.
It also urged relevant international institutions to take urgent measures to prevent the targeting of journalists and ensure their protection in line with international humanitarian law and related conventions.
