JEDDAH: Nature lovers are heading to the Birds and Reptiles Cave, part of Jeddah Season, at City Walk for a wild experience.

The exhibit, which runs until June 14, presents visitors with an array of exotic animals, from vibrant, free-flying birds to reptiles housed in carefully crafted enclosures. Visitors can touch, feed, and observe tame species under the supervision of experts and handlers.

More than 50 rare and exotic bird species from Indonesia, Australia, Africa, and South America are part of the experience this year.

Mohammed Bukhari, one of the exhibit鈥檚 wildlife experts, said, 鈥淲e offer a unique experience that weaves together the magic and diversity of nature鈥檚 wildlife within an entertaining and consumer-friendly environment.鈥

He emphasized the cave鈥檚 broad appeal, noting that it caters to both wildlife enthusiasts and casual visitors. 鈥淧arents are increasingly bringing their kids to connect with nature and experience wildlife,鈥 Bukhari added. 鈥淔rom schoolchildren to the elderly, everyone gets rejuvenated and energized after spending some time exploring nature with such birds and reptiles.鈥

Hamdaan Al Buadaani from Taif, who visited the cave with his son, said: 鈥淢y son was very happy to see birds flying over his head, holding little snakes in his hand, touching the big and small turtles and getting up close with macaws, owls, kangaroo and monkeys.鈥

Adel Al-Mansouri, who visited with his family, praised the cave as a great outing for children. 鈥淚t is an ideal place to view reptiles and birds,鈥 he said. 鈥淭here is a good variety of birds and reptiles and my kids were so happy to touch and play with birds.鈥

RIYADH: 黑料社区鈥檚 Chief of General Staff Lieutenant-General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili presented Pakistan鈥檚 Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza with a King Abdulaziz Medal of the Excellent Class in Riyadh on Saturday.

The award was made in recognition of Mirza鈥檚 efforts to consolidate the bonds of friendship and joint cooperation between the Kingdom and Pakistan and strengthen Saudi-Pakistani relations, the Saudi Press Agency said.

The medal was given to Mirza during a meeting with Al-Ruwaili and in accordance with a royal directive from King Salman.

The two officials reviewed aspects of cooperation in the defense and military fields between their countries and ways to strengthen and develop them in the meeting.A number of topics of common interest were also discussed, SPA said.
