黑料社区 says no to displacement of Gazans, rejects relations with Israel without Palestinian state

黑料社区 on Wednesday said its聽long-held position that Palestinians must have their own independent state was firm.

RIYADH: 黑料社区 on Wednesday said its聽long-held position that Palestinians must have their own independent state was firm and not open to negotiation, a stance Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has reiterated many times before.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry statement came shortly after President Donald Trump said he wants the US to own the Gaza Strip after all Palestinians are displaced from there and sent to other countries, where settlements will be constructed for them.

The Kingdom鈥檚 position has been a longstanding one with its leaders repeatedly calling for justice for Palestinians, who they say deserve a state of their own alongside Israel as a way to find a lasting solution to the decades long conflict.

Saudi leaders have repeatedly said any formal relations between the Kingdom and Israel hinge on the creation of a viable Palestinian state on the 1967 borders.

The ministry statement highlighted a speech by the crown prince at the Shura Council on September 18, 2024, where he stressed that 黑料社区 will continue its tireless work towards the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, adding the Kingdom will not normalize ties with Israel without it.

The crown prince expressed a similar sentiment during the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit in Riyadh on Nov. 11, 2024, where he stressed the continuation of efforts to establish a Palestinian state and demanded an end to Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.

He also urged more countries to recognize the State of Palestine, stressing the importance of mobilizing the international community to support the rights of Palestinians, which were expressed in the resolutions of the UN General Assembly by considering Palestine eligible for full membership of the world body.

鈥淭he Kingdom of 黑料社区 also stresses its previously announced categorical rejection of any violation of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, whether through Israeli settlement policies, annexation of Palestinian territories, or attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land,鈥 the statement added.

Trump, standing next to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Tuesday, said the Palestinians would be better off living outside of Gaza which has been bombed to rubble during Israel鈥檚 brutal 15-month attack.

鈥淚 don鈥檛 think people should be going back,鈥 Trump said. 鈥淵ou can鈥檛 live in Gaza right now. I think we need another location. I think it should be a location that鈥檚 going to make people happy.鈥

The president insists Egypt and Jordan would have to take the Gazans he plans to displace. Both countries have rejected the idea outright.

The Kingdom said that it鈥檚 the international community鈥檚 duty to work to alleviate the severe human suffering of the Palestinian people, who will remain in their land.

鈥淟asting and just peace cannot be achieved without the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions, and this is what was previously explained to the previous and current American administrations,鈥 the ministry statement said.

WORLD REACTS TO TRUMP'S PLAN

Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas on Wednesday praised 黑料社区鈥檚 stance in favor of the establishment of a Palestinian State and the kingdom鈥檚 rejection of displacing Palestinians.聽

Abbas also 鈥渟trongly rejected鈥 Trump's proposal to take over Gaza.

鈥淧resident Mahmud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership expressed their strong rejection of calls to seize the Gaza Strip and displace Palestinians outside their homeland,鈥 Abbas's office said in a statement, adding that 鈥渓egitimate Palestinian rights are not negotiable鈥.

In a statement on Wednesday, the United Arab Emirates鈥檚 foreign ministry said the country categorically rejects any attempt to displace the Palestinians and deny them 鈥渋nalienable rights.鈥

Jordan鈥檚 King Abdullah said聽he rejected any attempts to annex land and displace Palestinians.
鈥淗is Majesty King Abdullah II stresses the need to put a stop to (Israeli) settlement expansion, expressing rejection of any attempts to annex land and displace the Palestinians,鈥 the Jordanian royal court said in a post on X.
While receiving Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, King Abdullah affirmed full Jordanian support for the Palestinians.

Turkey鈥檚 Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also lashed out at Trump's proposal, saying聽鈥渢his is an unacceptable issue,鈥 in statements to聽Anadolu news agency.

Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Qanou聽said the proposal is聽a 鈥渞acist鈥 idea.

鈥淭he American racist stance aligns with the Israeli extreme right's position in displacing our people and eliminating our cause,鈥澛燼l-Qanou said in a statement.

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares on Wednesday said:聽鈥淚 want to be very clear on this: Gaza is the land of Gazan Palestinians and they must stay in Gaza鈥.

鈥淕aza is part of the future Palestinian state Spain supports and has to coexist guaranteeing the Israeli state's prosperity and safety,鈥 he added.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called for swift reconstruction of Gaza Wednesday without the displacement of Palestinians from the territory.聽

France said Wednesday the future of Gaza must not involve 鈥渃ontrol by a third state鈥 following Trump's remarks.聽

The French foreign ministry said it 鈥渨ill continue to campaign for the implementation of the two-state solution, the only one that can guarantee long-term peace and security for Israelis and Palestinians alike.鈥澛

The Kremlin said in a statement that Russia believes a settlement in the Middle East is only possible on the basis of a two-state solution.聽

鈥淭his is the thesis that is enshrined in the relevant UN Security Council resolution, this is the thesis that is shared by the overwhelming majority of countries involved in this problem. We proceed from it, we support it and believe that this is the only possible option.鈥 聽

British Foreign Minister David Lammy said it should be ensured that Palestinians have a future in their homeland, saying: 鈥淲e've always been clear in our belief that we must see two states. We must see Palestinians live and prosper in their homelands in Gaza and the West Bank鈥.

The UN Human Rights Office said any forcible transfer in or deportation of people from occupied territory breaches international law.

鈥淚t is crucial that we move towards the next phase of the ceasefire, to release all hostages and arbitrarily detained prisoners, end the war and reconstruct Gaza, with full respect for international humanitarian law and international human rights law,鈥 said the UNHR in a statement to Reuters.

鈥淎ny forcible transfer in or deportation of people from occupied territory is strictly prohibited,鈥 it said.聽

  • 鈥満诹仙缜 is doing very well in digital education and digital health, as well as in digital work and training,鈥 Abdulaal said

RIYADH: 黑料社区 is making strong progress in digital health and education, with data highlighting key advancements in the Kingdom鈥檚 transformation toward a digital-based economy under Vision 2030.

According to the Digital Economy Navigator, a global framework that measures countries鈥 digital maturity, the Kingdom scored 91.2 in digital for health and education, and 83.1 in workforce training.

Speaking to Arab News, Alaa Abdulaal, chief of digital economy foresight at the Riyadh-headquartered Digital Cooperation Organization, said the Kingdom is highlighted as one of the fastest transforming digital economies, with strengths in digital aspects.

鈥満诹仙缜 is doing very well in digital education and digital health, as well as in digital work and training,鈥 Abdulaal said. 鈥(The Kingdom) is considered among the frontier countries in terms of maturity level across these pillars.鈥

She added that the Digital Economy Navigator is both a measurement and guidance tool, helping countries identify their areas of strength and the sectors that require further development.

鈥淭he Digital Economy Navigator is a tool that would help countries understand where they stand from a digital-economy maturity perspective,鈥 she said.

黑料社区鈥檚 strong foundation in digital regulation has also supported its rapid transformation, Abdulaal said.

鈥淔rom a regulation perspective, 黑料社区鈥檚 score is considered very good,鈥 she added. 鈥淭hey are developing a lot of regulations that are enabling a very strong environment for prosperity, but also with the acceleration of the digital economy and the quick acceleration development in technology, there is always room (for) doing better from a regulation perspective.鈥

While the Kingdom鈥檚 performance in education, health and workforce development is among the strongest globally, Abdulaal said digital innovation remains an area requiring greater focus.

鈥淪till digital innovation needs a lot of investment and a lot of focus, not only in Saudi, but as I said, across a lot of countries that we have assessed.

鈥淚t needs a lot of investment research and development. The uncertainty that is behind innovation also may cause a fear in investment in innovation, but as we see with the acceleration of the technology, we see that the need of the research and development areas is really helping in accelerating the growth of the digital economy.鈥

She said that the framework draws data from both primary and secondary sources, including surveying an average of 500 participants per country, to capture the lived experiences of citizens.

鈥淚t means that people have a say in how mature their digital economy is; it reflects their perspective as beneficiaries and contributors,鈥 Abdulaal added.

鈥淲e took the societal aspect into consideration as an important pillar in the digital economy. And with this framework, it will help understand where you stand and how you move forward.鈥

Abdulaal highlighted how human capital development is the foundation of a resilient digital economy.

鈥淗uman capital is one of the main pillars of the digital economy,鈥 she said. 鈥淲hen you look at the enabler dimension, there is a pillar called digital capabilities, which is really focused on how much each country is investing in upskilling and reskilling their society with the right skills.鈥

She added that countries including 黑料社区 are performing well in digital literacy but must now prepare for a more advanced phase of transformation.

鈥淲e are in an era (of) AI, Internet of Things. You hear about quantum computing, you hear about all of those digital and technology advancements. We need to make sure that our society is equipped with the right skills that will enable them to be part of this.鈥
