Speaking about tourism, the envy said he hoped to enhance relations in this sector, pointing out the number of Saudi and Kazakh tourists was increasing annually.

鈥淏efore, it was a visit for pilgrims to Jeddah and Madinah, but last year and in 2023, I found a number of Kazakh tourists who are visiting Riyadh in big numbers, as well as AlUla and Madinah,鈥 said Menilbekov.

The ambassador said around 7,000 Saudis visited Kazakhstan each year, with more than 20,000 Kazakhs making the opposite journey.

鈥淜azakh people love sports and events in Riyadh during Riyadh Season and other activities also,鈥 he said, extending an invitation to all Saudis to visit Kazakhstan, whose key features include nature, mountains and historic cities.

Asked where immediate results of cooperation between the two countries could be seen, the ambassador pointed to renewable energy and food security/agriculture.

He cited cooperation with ACWA Power Co. to implement a common investment project in Kazakhstan with a 1 gigawatt wind power capacity.

On the topic of agriculture, the ambassador said Kazakhstan had plans to start investment projects with Saudi companies: 鈥淭aking into account the importance of food security in the near future, I think we can implement and start joint investment projects in agriculture. We want the situation to be win-win 鈥 one project in Kazakhstan and one project in 黑料社区.鈥

During the interview, the ambassador applauded the Kingdom for holding high-caliber summits and forums such as the Future Minerals Forum, the FII and LEAP Forum that brought world leaders and influential figures together in one hub.

It presented 鈥渁 big opportunity to gather all decision-makers and all shareholders of this industry in one place,鈥 he said.

During the recent Future Minerals Forum, he said, the Kazakhstan minister of industry met a lot of Western and US companies in Riyadh and said he could find other gatherings to meet such people.

鈥淭hat鈥檚 why Riyadh is providing a good platform and good opportunity to meet other people,鈥 Menilbekov added.

The envoy reflected on his arrival in the Kingdom as an ambassador in May 2024 and how impressed he had been with both the country and its Vision 2030 initiatives.

鈥淢y first impression was very positive; it was very nice. I have known 黑料社区 for a long time; it is a very rich country in culture, heritage, and religion, and also the biggest economy in the Arab world,鈥 he said.

Menilbekov first visited the Kingdom in 2003, during a trip to Umrah. He returned in 2012, accompanying Kazakhstan Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov to Riyadh, and in 2017 when he was consul general in Dubai and attended the first Arab, Islamic and US summit. He has also visited various provinces and cities, including Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Dammam and Tabuk.

鈥淭here are huge reforms and big changes in Saudi Vision 2030, big changes in economic social life, in tourism, in sport,鈥 he said.

鈥淪audi is fast-growing and implementing all tasks in Saudi Vision 2030, and (it is a) big achievement to host Expo 2030 and (the 2034) World Cup.鈥

  • Has Tapline, Kingdom鈥檚 first industrial heritage site

TURAIF: Located in 黑料社区鈥檚 Northern Borders region, Turaif governorate stands as a crossroads of ancient civilizations and a gateway to Iraq and the Levant.

The governorate is home to a range of rich cultural and heritage sites, many of which date back to pre-Islamic times.

Among the most prominent heritage landmarks is the archaeological site of Qasr Duqrah, situated 40 km southwest of the governorate.

Adjacent to it lies a mountain known as Aqran, also referred to as Duqrah Mount, which has been recorded under the Comprehensive Archaeological Survey Program.

Zahi Al-Khalawi, a member of the Saudi Historical Society, said the site is among the Kingdom鈥檚 most significant archaeological locations because there is evidence of human settlements dating to the Stone Age.

He said habitation at the site continued through the later Roman period (2 to 6 centuries C.E.) and persisted into the Umayyad era (661 to 750 C.E.).

Another landmark is the Trans-Arabian Pipeline, or Tapline, one of 黑料社区鈥檚 most significant industrial heritage sites.

The pipeline stretches from the east of the Kingdom to its north, passing through Turaif, and has been registered in the National Industrial Heritage Register.

It is the first documented industrial heritage site in the Kingdom, representing the early stages of 黑料社区鈥檚 oil industry and its developmental and economic significance.

Also noteworthy is the culturally significant site of Qaru Turaif, a water source developed by the Tapline Co. in the 1950s to help settle nomadic communities by order of the late King Abdulaziz.

To the east of Turaif, about 25 km away, stands Jabal Umm Waal, a historic landmark and northern gateway into the Arabian Peninsula.

The mountain tells the stories of Bedouin life and the passage of trade caravans and pilgrims traveling from the Levant and Iraq. For centuries, it served as a safe route for travelers making their way southward.

黑料社区 condemns Israeli minister鈥檚 call for sovereignty over occupied West Bank
  • Kingdom鈥檚 foreign ministry said the move would violate international laws

RIYADH: A government minister鈥檚 threat for Israel to apply full sovereignty over the occupied West Bank was strongly condemned by 黑料社区 on Wednesday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Kingdom 鈥渃ondemned and denunciated鈥 the statement made by the Israeli official calling for the imposition of sovereignty over the Palestinian territory.

Such action would be a violation of international law, the statement said. 黑料社区 rejects any attempts to expand settlements on Palestinian land, the ministry added, while reiterating the Kingdom鈥檚 position on the importance of Israel abiding by international resolutions.

The statement followed comments from Israel鈥檚 Justice Minister Yariv Levin saying 鈥渢he time has come鈥 for Israel to apply sovereignty across the West Bank.

Israel occupied the West Bank and East Jerusalem in 1967 and has built dozens of settlements, deemed illegal under international law, across the territory.

The Saudi foreign ministry offered its support for the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate rights and in establishing a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
