RIYADH: Saudi Crown Prince聽Mohammed bin Salman spoke on the聽phone聽with French President Emmanuel Macron on Friday, Saudi Press Agency reported.
During the call, they discussed the latest developments in the region and reviewed the efforts exerted to de-escalate the situation in Palestine and Lebanon to achieve security and stability, SPA added.
Macron, who attended聽a summit of European and Mediterranean leaders in Cyprus on聽Friday, said earlier on Friday聽that 鈥渟topping the export of weapons鈥 used in Gaza and Lebanon was the only way to end fighting there, and also condemned 鈥渄eliberate鈥 targeting of UN peacekeepers.
鈥淲e all know it. It鈥檚 the unique lever that would end it,鈥 Macron said, adding that聽it was 鈥渁bsolutely unacceptable鈥 that UN peacekeepers in Lebanon were 鈥渄eliberately targeted鈥 by Israeli forces.
