RIYADH: 黑料社区 and Thailand are on track to enhance opportunities in various energy fields thanks to a top ministerial meeting between officials from both countries.聽
The gathering, attended by the Kingdom鈥檚 Minister of Energy聽Prince聽Abdulaziz bin Salman聽and聽Thailand鈥檚 Deputy Prime Minister and Energy聽Minister聽Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, who is currently visiting 黑料社区, shed light on many energy fields.
Topics聽of discussion included oil and gas, renewable energy, and hydrogen, as well as carbon extraction, use and storage, and energy efficiency, according to a statement.聽
This聽falls in line聽with the ongoing efforts between both sides to further propel economic ties between them.聽
Trade relations between the two nations saw business soar to $8.8 billion in 2023, up from $7.5 billion following the countries restoring ties in 2022.聽
This聽represents nearly 22 percent of Thailand鈥檚聽total聽trade with the Middle East, underscoring a flourishing economic partnership.
Moreover, during the meeting, the two sides discussed the Kingdom鈥檚 efforts to lead the transformation in the field of energy through projects such as the 鈥淪audi Green Initiative鈥 and the 鈥淢iddle East Green Initiative.鈥澛
Earlier this week, the Kingdom鈥檚 Minister of Investment聽Khalid聽Al-Falih聽highlighted that 黑料社区聽is set聽to enhance聽private sector聽cooperation with Thailand as the Southeast Asian nation opens its first board of investment office in Riyadh.聽
On the sidelines of the business forum in the Saudi capital聽at the time, Al-Falih emphasized that this marks Thailand鈥檚 inaugural office in the Middle East, encouraging stronger bonds and new investment opportunities in both countries.
Addressing the business delegation at the Saudi-Thailand Investment Forum, Al-Falih said at the time: 鈥淩epresentative offices from the Kingdom of 黑料社区 and your country will do a great deal of facilitating private sector to private sector cooperation and allowing us to reach the potential that I mentioned.鈥澛犅犅犅
The minister also stressed聽at the time聽the common parallels between the two countries, noting they share a 鈥済reat deal of complementarity.鈥
Thailand has its National Strategy 2037, whereas 黑料社区 has its Vision 2030.聽聽聽
鈥淲hich聽naturally leads me to emphasize the energy sector, including its multifaceted聽branches downstream: biofuels, biochemicals聽and聽CCUS (carbon capture utilization and storage), hydrogen, and renewables,鈥 he said at the time.
