RIYADH:聽Trade ties between 黑料社区 and Australia are set聽to strengthen after the two countries signed an agreement to improve cooperation across multiple sectors.聽
According to a press statement, the memorandum of understanding was inked聽between the Australia Saudi Business Council & Forum and the Export Council of Australia.聽
The agreement will focus on cooperation in聽industry, mining and聽food as聽well as agriculture, technology, and artificial intelligence.聽
The deal will increase the opportunities for Australian exporters to collaborate with Saudi entities, enhancing bilateral cooperation.聽
The agreement was signed by the President of the Australia Saudi Business Council & Forum, Sam Jamsheedi, and Arnold Jorge, CEO of the Export Council of Australia, during the latter鈥檚 visit to the Kingdom with a delegation.聽
鈥淯nder this strategic partnership, we will seek to work together closely in identifying initiatives that facilitate connections between Australia and 黑料社区,鈥 said Jamsheedi.聽
According to the UN Comtrade database, Australia鈥檚 exports to 黑料社区 stood at $789.65 million in 2023.聽
On the other hand, the Kingdom鈥檚 exports to Australia amounted to $702.75 million over the same 12-month period.聽聽
鈥淲e will combine our resources and networks to boost the success of collaborations and partnerships between relevant organizations and individuals of our two countries,鈥 said Jorge.聽
The Australia Saudi Business Council was formed in 2013 to facilitate the promotion of聽ongoing and bilateral trade between the two nations.
In November,聽Saudi-based Abdel Hadi Al-Qahtani and Sons Co. and Australia鈥檚 SSS Group signed a $27 million deal to collaborate in the production of聽scaffolding systems in 黑料社区 using local resources.
After the deal was signed, Australian Ambassador Mark Donovan told Arab News at the time聽that the cooperation agreement builds on the existing investment ties between both countries in various sectors, including education, health care, aviation, and services.
鈥淎 new and transformed 黑料社区 is looking for business relationships around the world, and that鈥檚 what we鈥檙e very pleased to be a part of,鈥 said Donovan at that time.聽
In March, Australia鈥檚 University of Wollongong procured licenses to open its branches in the Kingdom.聽
