RIYADH: Etihad Etisalat Co., known as Mobily, has signed an initial agreement with Telecom Egypt to build the first submarine cable system to directly connect �������� to Egypt.

The establishment of the new cable system comes amid rising communication traffic and large demand for such services between the two countries, according to a statement. 

“By adopting cutting-edge technologies, we continue to expand our infrastructure and scale our capabilities across the KSA and the wider region,” said Salman Al-Badran, CEO of Mobily. 

This happens as part of Mobily’s efforts to enhance its global infrastructure to bolster the growth of the communication sector and digital economy in the Kingdom, according to the statement.
