  • Al-Ali began his diplomatic career in 1981 as a diplomatic attache at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Mohammed bin Mahmoud Al-Ali has been the Saudi ambassador to Tunisia since September 2016.

He first became an ambassador in 2001, and served as the ambassador to Sri Lanka for seven years.

Al-Ali was an ambassador to other countries, including the Maldives, South Africa, Mauritius, Botswana, Madagascar and Libya.

He was the charge d鈥檃ffaires at the Saudi Embassy in Brussels, Belgium, between 2000 and 2001, and the Saudi Embassy in Bamako, Mali, between 1993 and 1999.

Al-Ali began his diplomatic career in 1981 as a diplomatic attache at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 1982, he moved to Rome to work at the Saudi Embassy there until 1989.

That year, he became the director of the ministry鈥檚 economic undersecretary, a position he held until 1993. Al-Ali also worked at the ministry鈥檚 department of bilateral economic relations.

He has a bachelor鈥檚 degree in political science from King Saud University, and undertook various courses in law and diplomatic studies at the ministry鈥檚 Diplomatic Institute in Riyadh.

The Kingdom鈥檚 Embassy in Tunisia celebrated Saudi National Day by holding a special reception. Al-Ali congratulated King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi people on the occasion.
