UAE says 鈥榚xtremist militias鈥� control Libyan capital

DUBAI: 鈥淓xtremist militias鈥� controlling the Libyan capital, Tripoli, were 鈥渄erailing鈥� the search for a political solution to the country鈥檚 crisis, a senior United Arab Emirates (UAE) official said on Thursday.
鈥淎bu Dhabi agreement offered opportunity to support the UN-led process. Meanwhile extremist militias continue to control capital and derail search for political solution,鈥� Anwar Gargash, UAE鈥檚 Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, said in a Twitter post.
鈥淧riority in Libya (is) to counter extremism/terrorism and support stability in long drawn out crisis,鈥� he added.
