Emirates and Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) are anticipating a surge in interest in the Indian Ocean island from șÚÁÏÉçÇűâs outbound tourism sector, following the resounding success of the recently concluded road shows that were held to promote the destination across key Middle East markets.
The collaborated promotion campaign aims to promote Mauritiusâ many leisure attractions among the Kingdomâs increasing number of outbound travelers. According to a country report by Euromonitor International, the number of outbound trips in the Kingdom is expected to increase annually by 14 percent, with outbound spending expected to grow by 6 percent by 2017.
The recent deployment of an Emirates A380 to Mauritius enables the airlines to cater to the surge in demand and interest in the destination, following the recent promotional initiatives. Further, the constant rise in the Kingdomâs annual disposable income confirms that the strategic approach is set in the right direction, one that places Mauritius at the forefront of international destinations that Saudiâs outbound travelers are most likely to prefer.
The Kingdomâs annual disposable income has increased by 8.4 percent over the last two years based on the demographic and economic indicators stated by Euromonitor International and is expected to continue to grow in the future, boosting both the airlineâs and MTPAâs strategic plans to tap into the Kingdomâs outbound tourism potential.
âMauritius has a lot to offer for travelers looking to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the island. Besides being hugely popular with honeymooners, the dream destination also provides an enriching and rejuvenating experience for families. From sightseeing, family activities, entertainment, shopping and sports and leisure to breathtaking accommodations and enchanting resorts, Mauritius is that gorgeous retreat that everyone wants to escape to for holidays,â said Michael Sik Yuen, minister of tourism and leisure for Mauritius.
âWe are already witnessing a regular increase in trips to Mauritius and believe that by strongly focusing on șÚÁÏÉçÇű, these frequencies will increase further,â said Majid Al-Mualla, Emiratesâ divisional SVP, commercial operations center.
