Saudi-Greece trade exceeds SR15 billion

Secretary-General of the Arab Hellenic Chamber of Commerce and Development Rashad Mabger called on Saudi businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Greece, whose economy enjoys various possibilities in tourism, real estate, foodstuff manufacturing, sustainable energy and agriculture.
The official was addressing a meeting of over 45 businessmen of both countries last Sunday at Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) in the presence of Greek Consul General in Jeddah Polychronis Polychroniou. Mabger said the volume of trade between Greece and Arab countries is less than it should be and does not reflect the deep historic and political relations between them. The Greek business delegation’s visit to the JCCI is part of the Arab-Hellenic chamber’s aim to implement more commercial relations with the Arab World.
JCCI Secretary General Adnan Mandoura encouraged Saudi businessmen to benefit from foreign investment facilitations in Greece since that country’s products enjoyed good global reputation. He also called on Greek businessmen to enter into joint venture partnerships with their Saudi counterparts in projects across ºÚÁÏÉçÇø as the Kingdom is witnessing a boom in all fields and all areas of the country.

He said Greek companies are determined to enter the Saudi market and build a stronger relationship with Saudi counterparts to increase the volume of trade that exceeded SR15 billion last year.
Polychroniou, the consul general, said the Greek government had amended its foreign investment law that guarantees investors’ rights. He explained the promising investment opportunities in several sectors and the facilitations offered by the government to encourage foreign investments, saying the Saudi-Greek relations form a solid basis for more economic cooperation that would benefit both countries.
The Greek business delegation comprised over 20 companies specialized in health care services, pharmaceutical products, foodstuff, contracting and construction, chemical products, electronics, engineering, interior designing, project management, port services, real estate investment, aviation and defense, information systems, textile and carpet.
